## What NetSuite actually is

NetSuite is Oracle’s cloud ERP suite, covering financials, inventory, order management, supply chain, warehouse, procurement, CRM and commerce, with OneWorld adding multi-subsidiary consolidation across currencies and jurisdictions. Oracle states the licence has three components - the core platform, optional modules and the number of users - plus a one-time implementation fee, renewed annually. It has scale nobody else in this list can match, with tens of thousands of customers worldwide, and it is a natural fit for a company that expects to raise money, acquire, or expand internationally in the near future.

## What NetSuite does well

- True multi-subsidiary, multi-currency consolidation through OneWorld, with country-specific tax handling across a very large number of territories.
- A single suite covering finance, operations, CRM and commerce, which removes a lot of integration work if you use most of it.
- Enormous deployment experience and a mature partner and developer ecosystem, including SuiteScript customisation.
- The obvious choice for a business on an acquisition or international expansion path, or one heading towards investor-grade reporting.

## Side by side

| Dimension | NetSuite | CubeERP |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Built for | Fast-growing, multi-entity and international businesses | Established UK operations of roughly 10-300 people |
| Licence structure | Core platform + optional modules + users, renewed annually | Per named user, every module included, monthly or annual |
| Consolidation | OneWorld multi-subsidiary consolidation across 190 currencies | Not offered. If you need this, buy NetSuite |
| Implementation | One-off fee, typically a multi-month project | Fixed price per stage, on site, approved stage by stage |
| Access to the builders | Through an account manager or partner | Direct - the people who wrote it are the people who support it |
| Accounts | Full financial suite - it is your ledger | Posts into your existing Xero, Sage or QuickBooks |

## Worth checking before you sign

- **The licence has three moving parts:** Core platform, optional modules and user count each move independently, and modules are the part that grows. A quote that looks reasonable at year one can look different at year three once the modules you actually needed have been added.
- **Annual renewal, and it is annual:** NetSuite is licensed as an annual subscription. Understand the renewal terms, the uplift mechanism and the notice period before signing, because these are the details that determine long-term cost rather than the first-year figure.
- **Implementation is a substantial project:** There is a one-off implementation fee and, for most businesses, a multi-month project run by Oracle or a partner. That is proportionate for a complex international rollout and heavy for a single-site UK manufacturer.
- **You are one customer among tens of thousands:** Scale brings maturity and it also brings distance. Influence over the roadmap, and access to the people who actually build the product, are not realistically part of the arrangement at the small end.

## When NetSuite is the better choice

If you have subsidiaries in multiple countries, need statutory reporting in each, are on an acquisition path, or expect an investor or buyer to require consolidated group reporting, NetSuite is the right answer and CubeERP is not. Consolidation across jurisdictions is a hard problem and we have deliberately not built it.

## What leaving NetSuite involves

- **Establish what you actually use:** The first exercise is listing which NetSuite modules are licensed against which are used. It is common to find several paid modules that were switched on during implementation and never adopted, and that list is the real business case.
- **SuiteScript customisations need translating:** Anything built in SuiteScript is bespoke logic that has to be re-expressed. We treat that as a separate scoped item rather than folding it into a migration estimate, because it is the part most likely to be underestimated.
- **Time it against the renewal:** Because NetSuite renews annually, migration timing matters commercially. Plan backwards from the renewal date and the notice period rather than forwards from today.

## Frequently asked questions

**Is CubeERP cheaper than NetSuite?**

For a single-country business of our target size, materially so - mainly because the licence is single-tier with every module included, and the implementation is smaller. That comparison stops holding the moment you need multi-subsidiary consolidation, at which point NetSuite is doing something we do not do at all.

**We are growing fast. Will we outgrow CubeERP?**

If growth means more users, more volume and more sites in the UK, no. If growth means overseas subsidiaries with local statutory reporting and group consolidation, then yes, and we would tell you at the first conversation rather than after you had bought.

**Can we migrate away from NetSuite mid-term?**

Technically yes, and the data extracts well. Commercially it depends on your renewal terms and notice period, which is why we plan migration timing around those dates.

**Do you replace NetSuite’s financials?**

No. CubeERP is an operations platform and posts to a separate ledger. Leaving NetSuite means choosing a finance system - normally Xero, Sage or QuickBooks - and that decision belongs to your accountant as much as to you.

**Are you affiliated with Oracle?**

No. We are not an Oracle or NetSuite partner, we do not implement or support NetSuite, and nothing here should be read as an Oracle statement. We migrate data out of NetSuite when a customer asks.
