A great deal of business software treats reporting as a way to keep customers dependent: limited exports, no direct access, and a charge for anything beyond the standard reports. We take the opposite view. CubeERP includes a read-only reporting connection so Power BI, Excel or anything else can query your data directly, alongside the built-in reports and scheduled exports. If you want to build your own warehouse, we will help rather than obstruct.

## What syncs

- **Read-only data access** (Out of CubeERP): A reporting connection with documented views, so Power BI or Excel can query directly without going through an export routine.

## Setup

1. Request a reporting connection - credentials are separate from user accounts and read-only.
2. Connect Power BI, Excel or your BI tool to the documented views and build from there.
3. Where you want a scheduled extract to your own storage, we will configure the destination and the frequency.

## Frequently asked questions

**Do you charge for database access?**

No. Read-only reporting access is included. Charging a customer to read their own data is a practice we would rather not participate in.

**Will a schema change break my reports?**

Reporting views are versioned and maintained deliberately so they survive upgrades. That is precisely why we expose views rather than internal tables.

**Can we get a full export of our data?**

Yes, at any time, in an open format, including documents. It is a standard function rather than a favour, and it applies whether or not you are leaving.

**Can you build reports for us?**

Yes - bespoke reporting and dashboards are available as a service through Cube Systems. It is optional, not a way of restricting access.

**Does reporting affect system performance?**

Reporting queries run against a separate read replica, so a heavy Power BI refresh does not slow down order entry.
