Why it exists
Where it came from
Crushed Ice has been writing bespoke business software since 2003.
Different industries, different sizes, and wildly different opinions about how a purchase order should work - but underneath, the same requirements appearing again and again. Quote it, take the order, know what stock you have, make or pick it, ship it, invoice it, and be able to say afterwards whether it made any money.
Building that from scratch for each client meant writing the same system again and again. The conclusion was uncomfortable and obvious: most businesses do not need a system built from nothing. They need a solid one that can be shaped, sitting on an API open enough that the unusual parts can still be built properly.
CubeERP is not a startup guessing at what a warehouse needs. It is two decades of being told, in detail, by people standing in one.
How it is built
Six things we decided at the start
These are the decisions that are expensive to change later. We made them deliberately, and we do not quietly reverse them for a bigger deal.
One record, end to end
An enquiry becomes a quote, an order, a works order, a despatch note and an invoice without anybody retyping it. Every document links back to the one before it, so a question about an invoice can be answered from the shop floor.
Open by default
Every module exposes a documented REST API and webhooks. If you need the data in a warehouse system, a website or a BI tool, you can have it - no integration tier, no per-connector licence.
Your ledger stays yours
CubeERP handles everything upstream of the accounts and syncs both ways with Xero, Sage and QuickBooks. You are not being asked to move your finance function to win a software deal.
Security is not an upsell
Role-based access, granular permissions, full audit trails and UK data residency are in the base product. They are not reserved for enterprise contracts.
Bespoke where it matters
When your process is unusual, Crushed Ice sits in the same group and can build against a documented API - rather than reverse-engineering somebody else’s database.
We tell you in the demo if it is not a fit
If CubeERP is not the right fit we will tell you during the demonstration, not six weeks into an implementation. It costs us the sale and saves you the write-off.

Why we still turn up
Plenty of software companies will sell you a system over a video call and never see the building it runs in. That works for a password manager. It does not work for the system that decides what gets made, picked, shipped and paid for.
Most of what we need to know about a business is learned by walking round it: the labelling on the racking, the laminated sheet stuck to a monitor, the step in the process that exists because of one customer in 2014. So discovery, training and go-live happen on your site, nationwide, from Olney.
